In the beginning of this course I was going through a lot of difficult times in life. I believe that many of us struggle with overwhelming situations that may interfere with us being able to move forward. However, I think that in order to be successful in life we sometimes may have to experience down falls, put downs, let downs and more. Nevertheless, it is up to an individuals to gain a positive attitude, positive thinking and a positive surrounding so that they can achieve an outstanding and successful life. I believe that I have room for improvement in all areas in my life whether it may be: Physical (9) Spiritually (9) Psychological (9) or Well-being (9). This is because sometimes I may have to take a step back before moving forward. The scores for myself have changed tremendously but I will try my darnest to push even harder to become over and above the call of duty, for myself and others that are in need.

After reviewing the goals and activities that I have set for myself in each area I was delighted with my progress. I had to actually give myself a pat on the back, this is because I have once again made improvement in a positive way. I have provided a list of goals and activities that I now involve in my life on a regular basis.
Goals:
Spiritually: To bond more with others of different beliefs
Physically: To become more dominant
Psychologically: To become more involved with positive surroundings.

The following are examples of how each of these can be practiced:

Spiritually: Prayer and Meditations
Physically: Gym work outs, (exercises) and eating healthy
Psychologically: Quiet time and relaxing techniques.

In life we are faced with many trails and tribulations however, I believe that involving prayer in my everyday life can help ease the pain that I may feel or experience.

After the completion of Creating Wellness, I gained more knowledge for my degree plan. When I decided to sign up for this course I thought I knew the majority of what I needed to know to pursue a career in the science field. The researches that we did for our assignments helped me out a great deal. Throughout the whole course I learned something new regarding my chosen field each time that we were given a project to do. I became more enthused when it was time to do another project for the course because I was eager to obtain the needed information for my field of study. This was an awesome course I really enjoyed the teaching style and the format layout. I feel so confident that I can now fulfill my dreams in furthering my education. I learned so much throughout the quarter which I believe will be helpful to me in the near future. Thanks professor Nysewander, for you excellent teaching and your promptness’ for answering all questions.

The Goal in Life

The reason that it important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, is so the mental state of mind of the health care worker can focus and prepare for an indivdual state of mind as well as theirs. In order for health and wellness professionals to promote stability having a stable mind will help. The Spiritual Life, knowing others beliefs is a way to show that the professional health care worker cares about the indivduals health and concerns. I believe that prayer is the key for many obstacles that people are faced with in life. But some of us can use prayer only at a time when something is going bad or not the way we would like it. However, I think that a person should pray even when things are going good in life. As far as the physical part as to why health and wellness professionals should develop this. It proves the strenght that one carries as a health care worker and this helps the patient’s to have faith, trust, and security with their health providers. I think that are three of this important matters are imperative for the health and wellness practice. However, in order for them to be achieved a person should possese the willingness to listening and learn. I enjoy learning and listening to others because I believe it is sometimes good to do less talking and more listening to learn. After doing a detailed assessment of myself I was able to determine that I can always improve however, I believe that I have come a long way and I greatly deserve the following numbers: Spirutually: (8)- I believe that I have an awesome praying life, I know about some of the different beliefs of others. Physically: (8) I have a strong and powerful mind and body, and for this reason I can help others achieve this same accompolishment. Psychologically: (8) The mind is a terrible thing to waste, I have a prepared mind that is strong and willing to face the odds. III. Goal development: List at least one goal you have for yourself in each area, Physical, Psychological (mental health) and Spiritual. Spirutually: To bond more with others of different beliefs Physically: To become more dominant Psychologically: To become more involved with positve surrondings. I will continue to pray and pray more for others, I will keep myself active and surrounded with positve people. I believe that a persaon can do whatever it is that they want to do if they put their minds to it. However, this comes with having a positive attitude, compassion, and happiness. The following are examples of how each of this can be practiced: Spirutually: Prayer and Meditations Physically: Gym work outs, (exercises) and eating healthy Psychologically: Quiet time and relaxing techniques. In order, to assess my progress or lack of in the next six months, I must first develop a plan. I will start of with making a list of things that I will work with for the next six months and stick to it. I will be sure to monitor my list on a daily basis to make that I am following it accordinly. I think that it is a perfect idea to have a check list, because after achieving what is on the list the person can move about to the next. This is a good way to start and finish an assigment, but do not move forward unitl whatever needs to be completed is accompolish first. Reference Dacher, E.S. (2006). The Best Is Yet To Come

I would have to say that I benefited with many of the different exercises and practices. However, I did get a lot of contentment from the Love Kindness exercise, for this has allowed my mind to become sweeten and open. The bitterness that once capature my mine has escaped with no return. The emptyness that I use to feel has been filled with Love Kindnees. The meditation exercises has helped my mind-body-soul come to a complete relaxing state. I feel less tension and stress, the word overwhelming that I use to mention often, does not overtake any longer. If involvement of relaxing techniques are included in the lives of indivduals this will help to lesson the stress levels, improve memory and concentration, decrease pain level and provide room for affection, compassion and love. This can be done by performing yoga, deep breathing technique and Tai Chi. I also like to involve my life with prayer, I believe that prayer is the key and answer to everything in my life. I would implement these practices in my personal life to foster “mental fitness” by performing meditations and prayer in my life. Reference Dacher, E.S. (2006). What's on My Mind

1. Complete the Meeting Aesclepius mp3 (located in the Doc Sharing area). Describe your meditative practices for the week and discuss the experience. Explain how mindfulness or meditation has fostered an increase in your psychological or spiritual wellness. How can you continue to apply these practices in your life to foster greater health and wellness? I enjoyed the Meeting Aesclepius exercise, I actually felt my mind, and body recalibrating to higher verison of myself. By performing this exercise I was able to think clearly and to make better decisions when it came to my mental, emotional, and physical health. This exercise has also helped me to speak positive about others. I of course had to listen to the audio more than once. Meditation: Meditation is a way to calm or relax the mind-body-soul. It has bring peace to the mind as well as the body and soul. In order to apply these methods into life, thinking positve and having a postive attitude will allow for this to occur. Not to mention, being surrounded with love, joy and peace. For my meditation time, I sometimes listen to calming music in a nice quiet place. I use candles lights while sitting in a peaceful place. The Calming- Abiding is another solution Calm-Abiding: The mind has developed and now patiences has sinked in this is because pratice is what makes perfection. A situation that once overwhelmed an indivdual may not have the same negative effect as it once did. The mind is able to handle stressful circumstances much better. 2. Describe the saying: "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" (p.477). How does this apply to the health and wellness professional? Do you have an obligation to your clients to be developing your health psychologically, physically, and spiritually? Why or why not? How can you implement psychological and spiritual growth in your personal life? How can I tell another were to go if I had not experiecne that road myself. This would be like the blind leading the blind, I think that it is best when one has had experiecne in something before giving advise. I think when a person learns something that mistakes will still occur, but practice is what makes perfection. It is important for a professional of any field to make sure that his or her clients needs are being met. I think that the professionals are obligated to make sure that all concerns and issues are being met. This will allow for many clients to have a successful outcome. Reference Kaplan University. GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

1. Practice the universal Loving Kindness (meditation) exercise on p. 93. I found this meditation to be soothing, my mind relaxed while reading the anadote and I was filled with comfort. This meditation takes me back to a bad experience that I had at a hospital with my mother. The nurse was so unprofessional, she did not even acknowledge who she was when entering my mother’s room. I could not believe what I was seeing, while asking my mother question the nurse did not even face her, she instead stood at the top of the bed (above her). I wish I would of had this meditaion handy to give to the nurse. 2.Complete the Integral Assessment discussed in chapter 11 (p.115). After completing this assessment I was able to acknowledge some of my flaws that had room for improvement and growth. 3.Describe the exercise and assessment process. What did you discover about yourself? What area have you chosen to be a focus of growth and development? Why? What are some specific exercises or activities that you can implement to foster greater wellness in this area? The exercise was a stress reliever it helped me work on forgiveness, while acknowledging some of my flaws. It also helped me realize that it is always room for growth and development. I enjoy the part of learning something new everyday, if I do not learn something new I feel that my day was wasted. I have a an opened mind, this allows me to understand the psychospiritul, biological, interpersonal, or wordly areas of my life. I believe if I pray, have along time, relax, the mind, body, and soul I will grow in all areas of my life. The mind is a terrible thing to waste, the mind should be utilized to do positive thinking and things.

1. Compare and contrast the Loving Kindness exercise and the Subtle mind exercise. Explain your experience including the benefits, frustrations etc. I found both of the exercises to be rewarding, I was able to allow my mind to relax while performing both exercies. However, for the Loving Kindness exercise I was able to stay focused. This is because I thought of a love while performing this exercise. A piece of mind came about immediately, my muscles began to relax from tension while performing each exercise. I enjoyed diong both of the exercises but I will continue to do the Loving Kindness often. 2. Discuss the connection of the spiritual wellness to mental and physical wellness. Explain how the connection is manifested in your personal life. By having spiritual, mental, and physical wellness a person will have good health. Spritual wellness comes with having a outstanding relationship with a higher power. The Mental wellness deals with having a relationship with self and others. Physical wellness come with maintaing a well balanced diet and exercise shedule. Stability is imperative for each of these levels of wellness along with a positve attitude.

Stress or Not

Describe your experience. As I was listening to the audio about Love and Kindness my body began to relax somewhat. But my mind began racing thinking and wondering were this audio was taking me to. As I continued to listen to the soft spoken voice, both my mind and body relaxed. Did you find it beneficial? I enjoyed the audio and I was able to get a little relaxtion from it. I would recommend this method to others ,because I believe that it can help relieve some stress. Difficult? Why or why not? Would you recommend this to others? Why or why not? What is the concept of "mental workout"? What does the research indicate are the proven benefits of a mental workout? How can you implement mental workouts to foster your psychological health? The concept of “mental workout” is preparing our mental state of mind for the real world. This in terms mean that in order for us to accompolish are goals in life we must be ready to deal with stress and many other obstacles that may come our way. The mind should be trained and built to handle, case loads of work, school, and things that may over work the mind. I believe we all handle stress in different ways what might stress one individual may not stress another. However, it is imperative for the mind to be strong and balanced for life struggling times.
